Somatic Ecology

Somatic Ecology is the study of how our environment affects our inner being and how our inner being affects our environment.

We study various environments, cultures, communities, spiritual, somatic and therapeutic practices. Through this research we create theatrical performances, short films, human experiences and events based on somatic ecology.

Video documentary

Shot on location near Kalamos, Greece in August 2019 with Nik Bertulis

Fish farms, a deserted community and the vacant seas…

For centuries Kalamos had a population over 2000 people, in the last 30 years, the population is reduced to 200. Formerly an island full of abundance, figs, almonds, goats, fish. After years of industrial fishing, dynamite explosions destroying the coral reefs, the fish have disappeared and so have the locals. In their place, the fish farming industry is stretching its long fingers into the waters of this supposedly natural reserve. Nik, Carly and Basile, research the real story of the past, present and future fish explosion.
